How to Face Paint A Clown on About.com

About.com asked me to do a few instructional videos on how to face paint. Here's the clown one. Enjoy! If you're not already painting, this video can show how some of the basics on how to face paint a clown. There's lots of different ways because each clown should have a unique design for his or her clown face.

My first body painting photo shoot

My lovely model is Patrice.

I shot her up on my roof. I really like how the metallic colors blend together and how the design echoes the lines of her body. While I had done a lot of bodypainting, she was the first model that I photographed. The shoot took place about a year and a half ago. I also like the color that the fabrics inject into the images.

It's tomorrow's post. The early edition!

I know that I said I was going to post new body painting images daily to this blog. I'm trying to keep a commitment that I made. I've got a killer day tomorrow. A business meeting @ 8am followed by treking up to the Bronx where I'm a volunteer face painting kids with special needs.
I know that I'm not likely to get to post before I run out in the morning so I'm posting early. It still counts, right?
Anyway, here are some pictures of Bobby (you can see other pictures of the body paint shoot we did last year in an earlier posting) and the infamous plastic dinosaurs. Come to think of it, Bobby might be infamous as well. ;) The first image was shot using my lensbaby. It's a funky kinda lense that has a single moveable focus point.

I know I promised pics of Bobby & dinosaurs

It's also at http://www.keyetv.com/content/news/topnews/story/Pregnant-bellies-become-canvasses-for-art/DL81zVYAfUOIsl2rox8gHw.cspx

Last month, I painted a pregnant belly and did an interview for CBS affiliates. Aside from having about 5 minutes to paint, looking like heck in the video, that they got the prices wrong & the complete lack of plugs that they got in for http://www.pregnantbellypainting.com/ , it worked out fine. ;)

Thanks to my model, the lovely Carla.

Tomorrow there will be body painting pictures of Bobby with LIVE dinosaurs! Would you believe plastic dinosaurs? Would you believe that they try to eat her? Would you believe that she tries to eat them? She does! Pictures tomorrow. I pinky swear!

Bobby, a body painting of the day...

Bobby was my model about a year ago. I'm body painting and shooting her again today. I think there might be plastic dinosaurs showing up at the shoot.

Most of the images of her last shoot were lost in the great harddrive crash of '08.

Cat looking at body painting

Here's a picture of Gizmo the cat with props from my last body paint photo shoot. These are not the best shots of the series, but I just wanted to include them because they show Gizmo looking quizzically at my model. Gizmo tries to get into just about every body paint photo shoot that I do. He thinks that the models are invited over for his amusement.
I do like how the images shows some of the detail on the body painted corset and the painted stockings. The patterning made me happy.

A body painting a day photo.

I've been trying to post a bodypainting photo a day. Let's see how I do with it. Today's model is Foxy Squire. Her website is http://foxxxysq.weebly.com/
Foxy was fun to work with and amazingly punctual for a model. ;)

Structure & discipline are not exactly close friends to me. I have been painting a lot of bodies lately.
With the downturn in the economy, people are afraid to spend money for parties so business has been slow. I figure, if I can't make money, at least I can make art!
Wow. I really AM bad at math. I posted TWO photos for today's body paint photo of the day. Don't tell!

Nova body paint shoot

He's one of the coolest models that I've met. He jumps out of airplanes nekkid! How cool is that!!!

Body painting with a slinky.

No, I didn't body paint this young woman with a slinky. She posed with a slinky.
